Legendary Men’s Fashion Designer Francesco Smalto dies, in Marrakech, Morocco

Francesco Smalto, the legendary Men’s fashion designer, has died at age 87.  According to Moroccan media, the designer passed away on April 5th, in one of the suites of the very prestigious Mamounia Palace, in Marrakech.

Morocco was actually a second home for Smalto and very close to his heart. The Italian fashion designer has constantly visited the country for the last few decades and was Morocco’s late king Hassan II, preferred tailor.

Francesco Smalto who was born in Calabria, Italy, in 1930, has founded his Men’s couture house in Paris in the early 60’s.   He was famous for being the designer of heads of states and of the world’s most fashionable male celebrities.   The notorious designer has also been the official outfitter of France’s national football team.
