Versace Mansion- During Miami Swim Week 2016, the famous Casa Casuarina, Versace’s miami beach mansion got a moroccan makeover when Designer Mara Hoffman presented her new collection inspired by Moroccan city, Marrakesh.
She told Miami New Times “I was just so in love with the time that Yves Saint Laurent spent at the Majorelle Gardens; it was the most beautiful garden in Marrakesh and he eventually bought it in 1980. I just loved that aesthetic and style.”
The Casa Casuarina is one of the world’s most expensive mansions. It was purchased by late Gianni Versace in 1992 to become his residence in south beach. He then renovated the place, spending more than $33 million on it. On July 15, 1997 Versace was killed in front of this house. Once listed for $125 million, it has been sold for $41.5 million and operates today as a high-end boutique hotel.
