The Casa Casuarina is one of the world’s most expensive mansions.  It was purchased by late Gianni Versace in 1992 to become his residence in south beach. He then renovated the place, spending more than $33 million on it. On July 15, 1997 Versace was killed in front of this house. Once listed for $125 million, it has been sold for $41.5 million and operates today as a high-end boutique hotel.
